Happy New Year to you all!
Resolutions
I’ve reached my fill. My heart can’t take it any more. I used to pride myself on staying well-informed of our national and international affairs and history. But no longer. My new year’s resolution is simple. I’m not reading any more newspapers, nor books, nor cataloguing man’s unquenchable bloodlust and insatiable appetite for repeating the rudimentary errors made by our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Until the UN and NATO decide to visit their own libraries and start heeding the advice contained within. Until they start glancing occasionally at our own histories, we’re doomed to repeat the heartache again and again.
I realise this is sounds like a bit of a cop out – but while the UN and our own governments continue to veto peaceful resolutions and common sense and sponsor mass terror for convenient 24 hour news cycles, I’m out – at least for now. Maybe I’ll try to reform things when I’ve an older and much calmer head. Right now, there’s just too much rage and sadness to cope with.
If ignorance is bliss – I’m going to try it out for a while. So that’s my resolution. What are yours? Leave us a comment below!
and in other news…
CBS Radio
Today I was told that “Fingertips of the Silversmith”, “Live At St Kevin’s” and “Wax & Seal” are now being inducted into CBS Radio’s digital library. If you’re a listener to a CBS Radio station in the States, you can request the tunes soon… Nice news to start the first Irish business day of 2011…
Look Up – It’s A Tiger
Also, we have some music on the Aer Lingus in-flight radio channel at the moment. I’ve no official details, but I think it’s a special edition of David Heffernan’s “Best of Irish” show from 4FM here in Ireland. So, listen out for that… if your flight hasn’t been cancelled due to snow, volcanic ash or violent sheep.
New Projects
I’m embarking on a few new projects… none of which I can talk about in detail, because I’m slightly superstitious about that. But I CAN reveal that we’re making some videos for the new album. I’m looking forward to the process greatly. We’re aiming for short and snappy. No edits. Slight processing. The bulk of the work should be planning the shoot. Wish us luck!
